Food Recipes – What Do You Know About French Food Recipes?

Here is another text about food recipes and food habits in different nations. In my previous articles I was writing about Polish and German food recipes and eating habits. This time I would like to provide you some information about another European country and its cooking habits. This article will be about food recipes from France. Read this text to the end and I’m sure that it will provide you some additional information. Maybe you will get some new information that you didn’t know before.

There are three main dishes in France. First of them is breakfast that consist of French loaf or croissant with jam. The next breakfast ingredient is coffee or chocolate in which we can put the loaf. French people also like drinking orange juice during breakfasts. The next very important French dish is dinner (people are eating it about 2 o’clock P.M). There are many dishes during French dinner.

French people are eating appetizers, than there is main dish, cheese, dessert and coffee. Soups in France are not so important and people don’t eat them a lot. There are many restaurants in France and the most popular products are cheese and wine.

There are many opinions that French cooking is the best in the world. It influenced cooking in other countries very much (especially from the west Europe). People think that French cooking is connected with frog legs, slugs, French loaf, cheese and wine. But in fact French cooking isn’t uniform. There are many French regions that preffer different food recipes. There are two main kinds of cooking in France. First of them is “high cooking” (expensive, traditional dishes prepared by famous cooks). The second kind of cooking is “new cooking” (easy and cheap dishes that can be prepared in a short time).

The main rule in French cooking says that ingredients should be fresh and with high quality.

I think that these information provided in the article about food recipes above were interesting for you. I believe that reading this article was an interesting activity. I’m really doing my best and I’m trying to provide you a lot of interesting, important and helpful culinary information. Of course I’m going to write more articles in the future. Please wait with patience for my next texts about cooking (and other culinary topics) that are going to appear very soon. Thank you very much for your attention and for reading this article.

Raw Food Diet Recipes Give Food Flavor

Does dieting have to be limited to starvation, pills, and powdered shakes?

We often become hesitant to go on a “diet” because we assume that we’ll be hungry or cringe during every meal. The real problem is that we perceive weight loss the wrong way. Weight loss shouldn’t be about simply losing weight. It should be about changing our eating habits-forever.

Sticking to a raw diet is easier than standard diets. That’s because you can buy everything you need from your local supermarket, farmer’s market, and so on. And, you’d probably be surprised at how many raw food diet recipes are available. This makes it easy to prepare healthy and flavorful meals for your family or when you have guests.

Dishes made from raw foods are busting with color, aromas, and most importantly, flavor! From juices to guacamole and from stuffed peppers to cranberry sauce, the sky is the limit when preparing raw food recipes.

You can even create tasty desserts, such as durian popsicles and rice pudding!

Where can you find raw food recipes? Several cookbooks are available in bookstores. Of course, you can also search where you can find virtually any information in the universe: the Internet. Remember, though, that some of the best raw food recipes can come from friends and relatives who share the same love for natural fare.

Finally, while a diet of raw foods is undoubtedly healthier than eating cooked food, the absence of meat in your diet could create certain nutrient deficiencies. Thus, it’s wise to take supplements for Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D. You should also consider supplements for copper, iron, and zinc. Without these vitamins, you could experience problems related to energy loss, overworked organs, and even hair loss!

The bottom line is that raw foods can be colorful, aromatic, and scrumptious.

Soon you’ll have your own favorite recipes to share!

Raw foods are unproceeded and uncooked plant foods: fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, seeds, grains, beans, nuts, dried fruit, beans, grains, legumes and seaweed. If food is cooked above approximately 116 degrees F destroys enzymes. Enzymes aids in the digestion and absorption of foods in the bodys digestion system. Cooking foods is believed to reduce the nutritional value of food.

Importance of Enzymes:
Known as Life-Force and or energy of foods. Enzymes assist in digestion and absorption of foods. Cooked food reduces enzymes or cooked foods are enzyme-less, not giving the body the maximum nutritional utilization of food.

Benefits:
-Weight loss
-Weight maintenance
-Better digestion
-Increased energy
-Reduces risk of heart diseases. Raw food diets have fewer trans-fats and saturated fats.
-Low in sodium
-Lower cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations.

Organic Foods:
It is recommended eating only organic foods. Organic foods are not grown with pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers or other toxic chemical harmful to your health. Recommended to eat organic as versus to conventional food but is it 100% practical? For raw food dieters totally eating only raw organic food may not suit their life-style. Therefore, for some their raw food diets maybe a mixture of organic and conventional

The Paleo Raw Food Diet vs. The Gourmet Raw Food Diet. Both Diets are raw food diets but the Paleo Raw Food Diet restricts certain foods that are allowable in The Gourmet Raw Food Diet. -Seeds
-Nuts
-Dried Fruits and Vegetables
-Seaweed
-The Paleo Diet only allows plants edible uncooked plants
-
-Nuts
-Beans
Mini Flax Pizza Bites
Gourmet Raw Food Recipe
Raw Diet Recipes
Non Paleo Diet Recipes

Ingredients:
-1/2 cup flax seeds
-1/2 cup flax meal
-6 medium tomatoes
-1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, soaked 2 hours or more
-1 tablespoon lemon juice
-1/4 cup fresh basil
-3 tablespoons dried Italian herb mix
-3 medium onions
-1 clove garlic
Grind all ingredients in a food processor
Spread evenly and thinly over 2 Paraflexx dehydrator trays, right to the edges and then use a knife or spatula to score into individual squares .
Dehydrate at 105 degrees for 3 hours then invert onto another mesh dehydrator tray to finish drying in the dehydrator for a further 10 18 hours.

Pine Nut Cheese Spread
Ingredients

-1/2 cup pine nuts
-1/2 cup macadamias
-2 teaspoons lemon juice
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-2 teaspoons nutritional yeast
-1/4 cup water
Grind all ingredients in a food processor.

Tomato Sauce
-4 medium tomatoes, de-seeded
-1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, soaked 2 hours or more
-1 soft date
-1 clove garlic
-2 teaspoons olive oil
-1 tablespoon fresh basil
-1 tablespoon dried oregano
-2 teaspoons lemon juice
Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.

Pesto
-2 cups basil, tightly packed
-1 tablespoon minced rosemary
-1/4c pine nuts
-1T olive oil
-1/4t salt
-2t lemon juice
Pulse all ingredients in a food processor until broken down, but leaving some texture to the finished pesto.

Assembly
Start with the flax cracker as a base to which youll add a layer of the nut cheese spread.
Next comes the tomato sauce and then top off with some pesto.
Garnish with olives, capers and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.

Variation: This recipe works great using marinated whole mushrooms as a base instead of flax crackers.

Marinate 12 mushrooms in 1/4c tamari and 1/4c olive oil for 2 hours or more.
Fill the mushroom caps with the nut cheese, tomato sauce and pesto. Going heavier on the amount of pesto works really nicely with mushrooms.
Once the mushrooms are stuffed, place in the dehydrator at 105 degrees F to warm through 1 – 2 hours.

FOOD INFORMATION.
How safe is our food supply?
Increasingly, the corporations that supply us with processed foods are unable to guarantee the safety of their ingredients. As a result, not just red meat and poultry, is now a potential carrier of pathogens, government and industry officials concede. As the drive to keep food costs down intensifies, most corporations do not even know who is supplying their ingredients, let alone if those suppliers are screening the items for microbes and other potential dangers.

Some concede that they cannot ensure the safety of items — from frozen vegetables to pizzas — and that they are shifting the burden of safety to the consumer. It seems the only time we know the products are unsafe, is when there is a problem, people get sick, and the product is recalled.

The Grocery Manufacturers Association has called for new safety initiatives. They include new training and more food safety audits. The grocers also want a new internet-based recall system to speed up the process of finding and removing recalled food products.

For information on receiving recalls by e-mail, or for other food safety facts, visit: www.inspection.gc.ca

Don’t just guess to tell when meat, poultry and seafood are done. Instead, use a food thermometer to make sure foods have reached at least the following internal temperatures:
Steaks: 145 degrees F (medium rare)
Ground beef: 160 degrees F
Chicken breasts: 165 degrees F
Whole poultry: 165 degrees F
Pork: 160 degrees F
Fish: 145 degrees F

BAR MIXES
If you have teenagers, or in fact any adult, impress on them the risks of driving while intoxicated. Statistics demonstrate drunk drivers cause many fatal road accidents.

It should be known that like any other drug, addiction is a potential hazard. Excess of alcohol will affect organs such as the brain, heart, and liver.

Trader Vic’s Rum Fizz
1 ½ ounces light Puerto Rican rum
1 ounce lemon juice
2 teaspoons bar sugar
1 egg
½ ounce cream soda
Grated orange peel
Shake all ingredients except orange peel in electric mixer (or in
shaker can with mixing glass) with ice cubes. Strain into fizz glass.
Sprinkle with grated orange peel.

Fresh Fruit Punch
8 ounces apiece of orange juice, pineapple juice, and grapefruit
juice.
1 bottle ginger ale. Sugar to taste.
Combine the juices with the sugar. Stir until the sugar is
dissolved and refrigerate. Add the ginger ale plus chunks of ice before serving.

Cupcakes for Children ? Decoration Ideas

Have you seen a cute, creative design of a mini cake? Have you tried baking and decorating a small cake? You may have or have not but you know it is not quite easy to design small cakes. Small or mini cakes are usually called cupcakes. Despite its small size, decorating a cupcake is very exciting and enjoyable. It can give relief to stress, improve your baking skills, show your creativity and make your children happy. Here are some cool and creative ideas about making cupcakes for kids.

Before decorating baked cupcakes, it is advisable that you consider the theme of the occasion. It is easy and helpful for you to decorate and design small cakes if you have an idea regarding the theme. There are several books, magazines or websites on the net that will help you find ideas about how to decorate and what designs to use for cupcakes.

Fun Toppings

The good thing about cupcakes is the freedom to personalize.

You can definitely decorate your mini cakes regardless of the theme or occasion. Parents can choose a lot of things to design the mini cakes they can offer to their children and serve during celebrations or no special occasion at all.

1. Colors

What children like in cupcakes are how they are created. Young boys and girls are actually enticed to take a bite of a cupcake because of their looks. The colorful creations of cupcakes can catch the attention of small boys and girls. So, try to create cupcakes with different colors of toppings. You may choose candies in regular sizes or in tidbits, chocolate coated candies, fondants in various colors and frostings.

2.

Shapes

Fondants are commonly used these days in cupcakes. They are good choices because you can create a lot of things in different shapes. You may create flowers, fruits, animals and other cool shapes of objects that you can top in each cupcake.

3. Letters

It is also common now to use letters as toppings on cupcakes. They can be formed through frostings, ganache or fondants. No matter what kind of technique you use, letters that can form a word is a brilliant idea. If someone is going to celebrate his birthday, you may make up the words “happy”, “birthday” and your son’s name. If your daughter graduates from kindergarten, you may also use “happy” and “graduation”. A cupcake must be only one letter because a single word won’t fit in one mini cake.

Sweet Flavors

Kids usually like to taste sweet flavored foods. When you make cupcakes, you must choose ingredients that produce sweet flavors. Sour and bitter are not what they are looking for. Thus, you try the most common sweet flavors like chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

Cute Kiddie Wrappers

Wrappers of cupcakes also make a difference in enticing children. They are easily hooked up to get a piece by just looking at the whole cupcake from its covering other than the attractive colors and sweet aroma of the mini cake.

Host a Cupcake Birthday Party

Cupcakes are the hottest party item around right now. There are whole bakeries devoted to the tiny little cakes. Cupcakes are often found in many local bakeries too and are outweighing full size cakes in popularity. A cupcake themed birthday party is so easy to host and is perfect for just about any age group.

Get your party guests in the mood by centering your birthday party invitations on cupcakes. You want to set the stage that this party is for a special person and that it is all about cupcakes. Make a visit to your local craft store or scrapbook shop if you want to make the invitations yourself. They are sure to have the card stock, stamps and stickers that you will need. Or you can find pre-made or personalized cupcake birthday party invitations.

One of the best parts of planning a cupcake birthday party is the taste testing. See if there is a cupcake bakery in your area. If not, call around to the bakeries in your area and see if they do special order cupcakes. Ask if you can get some samples of their most popular varieties to try. Check out their portfolio to see what their past work looks like.

Making your own cupcakes for the birthday is also a great option. You can either use a cake mix or a recipe from scratch. Search out some fun cupcake wrappers to make your cupcakes stand out. Many professional chefs add a fruit puree to cupcake batter in order to keep them moist. You may want to do the same because a cupcake is only frosted on the top and may lose moisture from the sides.

It is so easy to decorate for a cupcake party. Use the cupcakes themselves! You can put them on tables, the buffet, and everywhere else that you can think of. Choose from the many varieties of cupcake stands out there to show them off.

If this party is for children turn it into a “decorate your own cupcake” party. Some of the things you will need: an assortment of frosting in different colors, sprinkles, colored sugar, and little candies. They will love eating their own creations at the party or they can take them home for later.

This is a very popular birthday party idea and your guests and your celebrant will love it. Enjoy the yummy goodness of a cupcake birthday party.
